Frequently Asked Questions

Find the answers you’re looking for regarding the self storage world

Are there any items that I am NOT able to store?

Liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, toxic materials, and perishables. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding a specific item.

What is the best way to pack a unit?

Larger and more infrequently used items should go in the back of the unit. Remember to keep a walkway in the center of your unit to more easily access items. Always keep items labeled and a list of items stored, even a photo on the outside of each box will allow you to "see" what's inside.

What is mobile storage?

Mobile storage, also known as mobile self-storage or portable storage, is a super-easy alternative to traditional self-storage. No renting a big truck, scheduling a specific day and time to pack, and then driving through traffic in an unfamiliar vehicle to an unfamiliar location and then unloading. While the containers come in various sizes and store the same amount or more than a unit at a self-storage facility, the containers are brought to you and picked up on your schedule.

How does mobile storage work?

Our truck will drop off the storage container at your house or business. Once you pack it with all your stuff, you can keep it on your property for as long as you want or have us pick it up and take it back to our secure warehouse. If you are moving or relocating, then we will take the container from your house, or our warehouse, to the location of your choosing.

Where are you located?

Our secure facility is conveniently located at 6 S. Main St. in Sugar Grove, IL 60554, and Hinkley IL

Can I access my stuff?

Yes! There are two ways: Just call us or schedule it online, and we will deliver your container back to your house. Once you are finished with it, we will pick it up again. The second way to access your stuff is to come to our secure site in Sugar Grove, IL. Please give us at least 48 hours' notice and we will ensure you have easy access to your container. Also, note that we do not do any deliveries on weekends.

Do you offer contents protection services?

No. We do not provide any insurance or protection services for tenants.

How far in advance do I need to schedule delivery or pickup?

We require a minimum of 48 hours by phone call or email.

Do I have to be present for container delivery or pickup?

No, just be sure and have the space designated for the container clear and accessible. We will call you the day before we arrive and again 30 minutes before we arrive to confirm the logistics.

Where will you put the container? How much space is needed?

Midwest Mobile has the most advanced delivery system in the mobile storage industry. We can maneuver a container into any space a car can be parked.

Do you deliver and pick-up on Saturdays and Sundays?

Yes! We know you're busy and sometimes have no choice but to pack on a Saturday or a Sunday. Midwest Mobile Storage is there for you. Yes, even on Sunday!

Do You sell or rent storage and moving supples? Boxes, blankets, dollies, or hand trucks?

No.

What if I don't have a driveway? Can I place the container in front of my house or on the street?

Most jurisdictions allow containers on the street but check with your locality or Homeowners Association (HOA) to determine if you need a special permit or for other restrictions. You will also need to make sure that there are no vehicles blocking the parking spaces on the street when we come to deliver the container and pick it up.

Do I need a lock?

We provide an industry leading MASTER LOCK® smart lock with every container. This ensures your belongings are safe, secure, and easy to access.
